Oro Verde Limited (“Company”; ASX code “OVL”) is a mineral exploration company listed on the Australian Stock Exchange.
The Company listed on the ASX in December 1999 as Ezenet Limited (ASX code EZE) as a software and services company, marketing and selling technology enabling access to the internet. After change of activity, OVL was reinstated to the ASX on 3 February 2012, as a mineral exploration and mining company, focussed primarily on copper and gold in Chile.
Chile is a very mineral rich country, with a well established mining culture and industry, excellent infrastructure and services, and highly regarded and reliable financial, legislative and political systems. About a third of the world’s annual copper production comes from Chile, making it by far the world’s largest copper producer. Most of this copper is obtained from huge copper porphyry systems suitable for large scale, low-cost, bulk tonnage open pit mining; often these copper ore bodies also contain readily recoverable and attractive concentrations of gold, silver and molybdenum. These ore bodies are located in sparsely populated and some of the driest regions of the world and hence the potential for adverse and expensive environmental problems is minimal relative to similar mineral systems located in high rainfall, mountainous terrain elsewhere in the world.
These favourable attributes coupled with the considerable scope for further discoveries of vast copper/gold systems by means of modern exploration techniques coupled with hands-on experience made Chile an attractive choice for OVL.
OVL is now well established in Chile where it operates through its wholly owned Chilean subsidiary, Green Mining Ltda, with its office in Santiago, which is managed by an experienced CEO and our Chilean based geologists. The Company has a network of experienced Chilean geologists, relevant consultants and business connections.
The Company has a number of very prospective exploration projects and continues to search for additional attractive projects whilst adding value to its projects by exploration, and dropping projects when they do not met our expectations. Our primary focus is on large scale copper porphyry systems that lend themselves readily to low-cost bulk tonnage mining.
